Kodaikanal

Nestled on the southern part of the Western Ghats lies the beautiful town of Kodaikanal. It covers an area of approximately 21.45 sq kms. According to the census of 2001, the population of Kodaikanal was around 32,961. The climate is very friendly and the proximity from the sea ensures that there is no noticeable difference of temperatures between summer and winters. The tourist season generally stretches from April to October with the exception of July and August, when most of the rains happen, but on the whole, it could be visited throughout the year. The most prevalent languages are Tamil and English.
