In 1543, Vasco Da Gama came under the Portuguese rule and within a very short period of time transformed it into the busiest airport of western India. To have proper control on ships movement, the Portuguese built “Sada” Fort at the tip of the hill. However, the old Portuguese villages have something different which encourage tourists to come here.
