Warangal

Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh is the former capital of the Kakatiyas Dynasty. It has 12,846 sq km area and some important rivers of Andhra Pradesh like Godavari, Aleru and Pakeru pass through it. Major places to visit are Warangal Fort and Hanamakonda. Main pilgrimage centers are One Thousand Temple, Rammappa Temple, and Bhadrakali Temple. Warangal Handicrafts are made of wood and metals. Banjara Fabric is the first choice of people. Timber industry is growing very rapidly in the state. Malleruvagu project is the source of water. Weather remains warm throughout the year, but from November to January there is drop in temperature. Warangal has wide spread network of transport. Kezipet is the main railway station of the district.
