Badami

The major attractions of the city of badami are the cave temples at the rock cut hills. There are four caves of ancient times. Just at the entry you will find a cave temple made of red sand stones. This temple is estimated to have built at around 578 AD. It also believed to be the first carved temple in the world. The sculptures and paintings inside are done wonderfully. You can see a statue of Nataraja with all his eighteen hands stretched to form the eighty one poses of dancing. The second temple and the third temple are dedicated to lord Vishnu and the fourth to the Jain religion.
