Belur

Among the most important sites of visit in this city of Belur is the Chhenakeshava Temple. This temple is the most magnificent part of tourist attraction. The ornamentation of the deity and the temple decoration are worth noted. Some vendors are selling jewelry of antiquity around the temple. At the entrance of the temple is the statue of Garuda the carrier of lord Vishnu. The temple is wholly carved on a black stone that gives a shade of metallic look. The Narasimha Pillar is also a place of visiting in this place. It is said that it once kept revolving on its balls of bearings. Maximum of it is still to be excavated.
