Berijam Lake also simply called the Kodaikanal Lake, is in the shape of a star and is the prime tourist attraction in Kodaikanal. Set among fields of chaste green, the lake sprawls over an area of over sixty acres.
The Shenbaganur Museum is located at a distance of around five kms from the lake and showcases an enviable collection of more than 300 species of rare and flamboyant orchids.
Another place of interest in Kodaikanal is a pathway called Coaker’s Walk. This path was named after Lt.Coaker who took the initiative to prepare the map of Kodaikanal. It provides spectacular views of the plains at the distance.
