Palakkad

The Palakkad Fort is no doubt one of the prime attractions of the city of Palakkad. A strong ruler of Mysore, a city of Karnataka, Haider Ali, built this magnificent fort in the year 1766. Haider Ali was the father of the legend Tipu Sultan. The British captured this fort in 1790 and further renovated. Dhoni is a hilly place near the city often interested by the visitors. This hill forest of Palakkad is a reserved forest. One has to trek for about three hours in this hill. It is an interesting place for trekking lovers and the small and medium waterfalls of Dhoni hill are the prime attraction of the visitors here.
