As  history tells that Ponda was safe place for Hindus, after the Portuguese took over it in the early 18th century. Therefore, it witnessed construction of  some magnificient temples. Amongst those some are“Shanta Durga Temple, Mangueshi Temple, Ramnathi”.Other attractions include “Safa Masjid” which was buit by the Bijpuuri ruler “Ibrahim Adil Shah” in 1560. Ponda is famous for the its wildlife sanctuaries, as here people can get to see “Dudhagar” waterfall. Ponda is now growing into the industrial centre of Goa. Some industrial estates are Kundam Bethorda, Tisk.” Kadamba Transport Corporation offers bus services to nearby towns like Panaiji and Margao. It also runs buses for surrounding villages alongwith interstate buses.
