The most important place of visit in the city of Thrissur is the one and only Vadakkumnathan Temple of Kerala. This temple is an old temple of the 8th century AD. In fact, it is the oldest in the state the shrine here is the Lord Shiva. Guruvayoor is another important pilgrimage site of Thrissur. The shrine of this temple is Lord Krishna. It is believed to have built by combination of Guru, a messenger of god and Vayu, which is wind. The Kerala Kalamandalam is the prime responsible place of saving and preserving the valuable olden and traditional arts and culture of the state. Kathakali is one among the arts of Kerala.
