Dharapuram

It is one of the fastest growing cities of Tamil Nadu. It is situated at the foot of the Nilgiris Mountains. It runs along the banks of the river Amaravathi, which is a tributary of The River Cauvery. It has a chequered history. Various Dynasties ruled here. It is best known for Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. Traveling here is not very difficult. It is easily accessible from Coimbatore, only about 90 kms from there. One can reach here by air or by road. If one chooses to come by road it is a  delight as it is lined with coconut trees and windmills along the way
